“Double-sided tape” covers four different products. Picking between them is easier if you start from the joint rather than from the tape.
Nano tape fills nothing but holds a lot
Nano tape is a clear acrylic gel on a thin carrier: almost no thickness, very high peel strength on smooth surfaces, and reusable. The waterproof reusable acrylic nano listing in our range is aimed at bag sealing and general mounting where the two surfaces meet flush.
Foam tape absorbs the gap
Where surfaces are not perfectly flat — painted panels, powder-coated metal, brick, signage — a foam carrier takes up the irregularity. Our heavy-duty double-sided mounting tape is a transparent acrylic system for exactly this, including moisture-exposed positions such as bathroom and kitchen fittings.
Tissue and sponge
- Tissue carriers bond paper, film and light plastics permanently; the thinnest, most conformable option
- Sponge carriers suit light loads on rough or dusty surfaces and are forgiving about pressure
- Both are supplied with a release liner for die-cutting or conversion
The two numbers buyers forget
Surface energy and dwell time. Low-energy plastics such as untreated polypropylene need a primer or a different adhesive; and nearly every high-strength joint in this range reaches final bond after a period under pressure rather than immediately. Test on your own substrate before specifying.
Published bands across the double-sided range run from US$0.13 to US$1.20 with minimum orders from 100 rolls, so a comparison kit can be put together economically.
