Why glow in the dark tape stops glowing brightly
Diagnose fading luminous tape: pigment limits, surface contamination, poor charging light and the difference between glow loss and adhesive failure.
Read the articleTwo different jobs sit in this range. Reflective tape returns light back to its source, so it is specified for vehicles, trailers and roadside equipment; glow tape stores light and re-emits it, so it is specified for staircases, exit routes and anything that has to stay visible after the lights go out.
Vehicle grades include PVC reflective roll tape printed to DOT and CVC requirements, wheel and door strips, and cyclist arm and ankle bands. The glow side covers PVC and PET luminous tape, die-cut exit markers and floor-grade anti-slip luminous strip. Agricultural bird-deterrent ribbon is also filed here because it works on the same reflective principle.

Reflective returns light from headlights or a torch and is the vehicle grade; glow stores ambient light and re-emits it, which is what stair and exit marking uses.
The catalogue lists a PVC reflective roll printed to DOT and CVC requirements; confirm the exact grade against your market before ordering.
The catalogue does not publish a decay figure, so we quote glow performance per product on request rather than assert a number here.
